with STASHU & JOE K

ABOUT

Waiting For Lunch Radio is a Freeform Audio Zine from Detroit made by STASHU & JOE K.

STASHU is famous for "DANCE WITH ME, STANLEY," her long-running weekly hyper-polka show on New Jersey's legendary WFMU. She also created "FUNHOUSE" on Michigan’s WAHS and "WIN WIN SITUATION", an impossible-to-lose game show for artists, now part of the PLANET ANT PODCAST NETWORK.

JOE K is a famous sound designer known for being in ZELDA AND THE UNIBROWS, ERIE CANAL THEATRE and MR. ROGERS' SWEATSHOP, running his studio BUMBLEPLEX, and his tour company, BACKSEAT DETROIT.

”WFLR”, one hour at a time, crams your brain with wide-ranging freeform music, collage, mashups, interviews, and listener calls. Hear challenging, fun, manic, energizing music and encounter unknowable realms of marshmallowy obscurity.

We’ve suspended shows while we take care of life. It’s been a fun two-year run, and should the stars align we may pick up this project again. Meanwhile, listen to dozens of episodes in the archive at Mixcloud, and we still have our ears open to new project ideas.

Because it takes so long for light from STASHU and JOE K to reach Earth’s telescopes, scientists detect, plot, animate and falsely-color them here as they would appear roughly 15 years ago, in 2006, as they first congealed from the open mic night accretion disc. These images are a time-lapse covering roughly two weeks of observations from both radio telescopes on Earth and the International Low-Orbit Space Noze (ILOSNZ). image: BUMBLEPLEX ORBITAL ARRAY HYPEROCULENZ, LLC

Using projections from BUMBLEPLEX LABZ’ most powerful adding machines, Scientists have generated this image of what JOE K and STASHU may look like today.

In the above artist rendering, STASHU, right, supervises JOE K as he dials in his most intentional social media pose. STASHU reminds us, “Don’t social media without a spotter, it only leads to injury!”
